Display rules is a skill that should be acquired by the children during their social development. It refers to the specific social rules which the individual should follow in given cultural background. That is what expression you should display in different situation, facing different targets, no matter what your feeling is. The development of display rules understanding bases on the development of children's ability, including cognitive, emotion recognition and emotion control.With the growth of the child's age, the display rule have been mastered, mature. It has close relation with the individual characteristics of children, meanwhile, it is affected by many external factors.Nowadays, researches on the understanding of display rules mainly focus on children who aged more than 6 years or adults, whose expression abilities have developed well, but there are few studies refer to the understanding of display rules of children aged 3-6. In this study, the researcher revise foreign research paradigm based on Chinese culture, to analyze three aspects of display rules of children aged 3-6 years, which include age, gender and situation. The paper shows that:Firstly, for children aged 3-6, their understanding of display rules have differences in age and this difference exits in both gender.Secondly, for children aged 3-6, there is no gender difference in their understanding of display rules.Thirdly, for children aged 3-6, there are differences in situation, but for all the ages. For the children aged 4-5 and 5-6, there are significant differences in different situation. But for the children aged 3-6,the difference on situation is not clear.Finally, based on this research and results of survey, we give some relevant recommendations about how to promote children's understanding of display rules from the angels of knowing the development of children's understanding of display rules and strengthening Kindergarten and family education measure.
