Exploring The Acceptance Of China English And Its Implications For Chinese-English Translation

Chinese and English are developing with the times. The complex combination of Chinese and English-China English, arises as an important variety of English that is gaining its due position. The concepts as well as conflicts are mirrored in the translation works between the two languages. In light of the increasing number of translated books and people going abroad, a need for research to explore how to enhance the quality of translation is necessary. This paper was intended to clarify the different concepts towards China English in and outside China through meta-analyses based on a literature review and qualitative interview with ten people, and to try to find the implications to improve the English-Chinese translation in academic works. Based on the collected researches and papers and the author's personal experience of being abroad (in Canada), the author would analyze them from a native Chinese speaker's perspective.The implications will be in four aspects:firstly, English and Chinese have different language system. China English is not a simple combination of the two, but is developing its own features; secondly, China English mainly exists in formal settings, for example, political and academic contexts, while Chinglish may occur in all contexts; thirdly, designing a style guide can help the translator solve a series of debating issues faster; fourthly, the experiences of living in China can help users understand China English.
