Research On The Shiben In Historical Perspectives

Shiben was an important history book which has been finished in the pre-Qin dynasty period. It recorded not only the genealogy of imperiality, feudal lord and minister in ancient times, but also kept an account of the habitation and invention of ancients in China. This ancient book occupied an important position in Chinese historiography. This thesis intends to research it in terms of history of historical science, and based in the relative previous achievements.In the first part of this thesis, the author began with an introduction of the historiography in pre-Qin dynasty period, and then summarized the relative previous achievements. Besides, the author explained circulation, reconstruction and other relative problems of shiben in this part. In the second part, the author narrates the form of historiography in pre-Qin dynasty period in terms of the compilation style. Meanwhile, the author verified the table of contents of this book, and made a study from the genealogy of imperiality, the pedigree of feudal lord, the pedigree of minister in ancient times, the section of habitation, the section of creation and the section of the posthumous title method respectively. Meanwhile, the author analyzed the compilation style based on the researching of the table of contents of this book. In the third part, the author presented official historian's effect on the historiography and society. On the other hand, the author expounded that shiben had an remarkable effect on Shiji, especially in following respects:unified conception, all nationalities of the same origin and ideology of destiny.
