Zhang Chengzhi is a Hui tribe writer who has the firm and resolute character. His novel text, from the prairie mother to the north rivers, from the golden pasture to the Ye religious sect, presents a road of a spirit seeker's growth for us unceasingly. The each growth and the challenge of the dramatis personae's in the novel, are one kind of metaphor which the writer grew personally under the big cultural context and hoped to identify the status. The writer wrote the prairie mother's novel in the early time, molded the image of Egiyn with the feeling. For the writer, to be the prairie herdsman became his first step to gain the status approval. Therefore, these novels naturally became the metaphor of the writer growth's first course. In "Osaka" and "the North River" these two novels, the writer used the metaphor to describe the iceberg Osaka and the north rivers as the strong father. He already went out of his mother's embrace, if he can conquer the father again, it would mean the individual growth's completion. The dramatis personae in the novels had completed this adult's ceremony through the bad natural environment's challenge and feminine character role's setting off. The writer who already had completed the adult ritual --- spirit growth course started to realize himself. During this period the writer faced one kind of choice, where the spirit dimension aimed at can give him the formidable power. In the work "Golden Pasture" Zhang Chengzhi had indicated for us that he had made the last option namely poor person's religion after reviewing these defeat's path through the Egiyn's big migration, the red guard's long march and a story of Xiaolinyixiong. This belief choice for self-realization already displayed very obviously in "Clay Hut" "Waning moon" "Nine Palaces" etc these novels. The clay hut, the waning moon on the mosque, the nine palaces in fable had described the spirit goal of the self-realization with the metaphor. But the novel "Mind History" tells us that, after the writer chose the Ye religious sect finally, self-realization is finally completed. One religion's end-result had given Zhang Chengzhi a kind of eternal power.
