The Study Of The Party Of Suiyuan Kuomingtang In The Republic Of China (1911-1945)

In modern times, Kuomintang (hereinafter refer to as KMT) gradually increased its party-building activities in Suiyuan. After the Revolution of 1911, several KMT Leaders emerged, under their lead, KMT party-building activities got further developed in Suiyuan. In 1924, after the holding of the 1st National Congress of the KMT Party, the party-building activities in Suiyuan became flourishing with the establishment of organizations in some counties and cities, during which period the Communists played a very important role. In 1927, with the implementation of the "Party Purge" Policy, large numbers of Communists in Suiyuan were expelled from KMT, which imposed great influence on the development of KMT organization. In 1928, large-scale party-building disputes outbroke in Suiyuan, the Nationalists jostle with each other, resulting in the abortion of the 1st Representative Congress in Suiyuan. In 1930, the Central Plains War broke out, KMT stopped all the work in Suiyuan until September 1931, KMT Suiyuan Division preliminarily established, meanwhile, the Executive Member, the alternate Executive Member, the Supervising Member and the alternate Supervising Member took office one after the other, therefore party-building activities were carried out gradually which lay out the sound foundation for the future party-building activities in Suiyuan. In 1935, the breakout of "North China Incident" prevented the development of KMT Suiyuan Division. In 1938, KMT Suiyuan Division moved to Hequ County, Shanxi Province and set up temporary institution to work continuously. In April 1939, KMT Suiyuan Division returned to Shaanba City, the west of Suiyuan and restart the work within Suiyuan territory. After the success of Anti-Japanese War in 1945, KMT Suiyuan Division moved back to Suiyuan.There are three main works to KMT Suiyuan Division, the organizing work, the publicity and developing new members, among which the organizing work is the focus, which includes the building of inferior division and guidance to inferior division on specific party-building work. During each different period, KMT Suiyuan Division focuses on different aspect of the organizing work, which relates directly to the policies of KMT Central Department. The means of the publicity are mainly articles, broadcasting, posters and rallies; the contents include the mobilization of the Anti-Japanese War and KMT theory. Developing new members from all classes of Suiyuan based on the principle of "Elite Priority". In addition, KMT Suiyuan Division did some member training activities, mostly after 1938, including the training to common members and to party cadres.
