From "Rickshaw Boy" To "Cityscape Line"

In Hebrew,the word city means : The angel is seen or an enemy. There are all the things people want it and everything people hate it .The economic prosperity brings more and more stronger feeling of unhappiness but happiness. When the society come into a brand new stage, with the new belief and moral views are needed to be established, the struggle and confusion through the process of the reborn of the spirit is inevitable. Trace back to the time of 1930s, when China turn into the progress of transition of Rural China to Modern China, what happened to the people`s inner world by the city`s influence. Take Beijing and Shanghai as example, because Beijing is regarded as traditional and oriental, while Shanghai is seen as modern and westernized. The totally different city in the 1930s shows the same disease of lost of tradition.Therefore, this thesis will discuss the"Rickshaw Boy"and"Cityscape line", from the way of"city and people"to research the confusion and struggle caused by the conflict of traditional value and modern consciousness.There are three part in my thesis. The first part is introduction. The writer will give a brief instruction about the researching of the theme of"city and human being","Rickshaw Boy"and"Cityscape line".The part II is Body paragraphs. There are 3chapter in part II.Chapter1 based on the text of"Rickshaw Boy". It will seek the reason what makes"rickshaw boy"turn into a villain from a hard-working man from the way of the failed of his dream of living and life. His failure in achieve a simple living and life makes him realized that no matter how hard he works, he will get nothing but frustration.Chapter2 take"Cityscape line"as a sample, analysis the reason makes human being spiritual emptiness what caused by the material desire and commercial spirit from the way of modern woman`s vision of love and the dissimilation of human being Chapter 3 based on the city of Beijing and Shanghai the two totally different ones analysis the alienation of human being .The part III is conclusion. It gives a summary of the whole text. In the progress of the Rural China turn into Modern China the traditional vision and moral system basis on the Farming civilization was more and more recession and decay ,because of the strike of the modern spirit and commercial civilization that caused the alienation of the human being.
