A Tentative Research Of The Institutionalization And Normalization Of Opera Production On NCPA

This thesis is to research the institutionalized and standardized development of the opera production in National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA). Through the context of the development of opera in China, the introduction of the opera production process management and the conception of repertoire's rotation staged system, the thesis is to propose some thinking for the opera's development and status in quo in China. Meanwhile, based on the institution change theory of institutional economics, this thesis is also to point out the necessity of the establishment for the opera producing internalization for NCPA, and to discuss about the transition of the opera system in China and to indicate the advantages for strengthening the transition of the opera system in China.Moreover, through the ways of literature survey, interviews and case analysis, combined with the reality, this thesis is also to analysis and research the opera's current development and system management in China and the opera's project approval, production, rehearsals, composing, dressing rehearsals, performing and evaluation in NCPA and also to point out the thought and method for establishing the relevant institutions and specifications of opera's creation and production.This thesis is divided into four sections. The first section is to describe the opera's current development in China; the second section is to explain the opera's systematic management in China; the third section is to analysis the ways for establishing the regulatory mechanism of opera project approval in NCPA; and the final section is to discuss the ways to build up a regulatory mechanism for the opera production. The significance of the research is to point out the problems and deficiencies in the opera development in China, to propose the mechanism of opera creation and production, and for achieving the goals to regulate the creation and production components. What's more, with the problems encountered in actual work, this thesis is to sum the common problems in opera creation, production components and solution ideas and to provide some reference and comments for the relevant industries and departments.
