Research On The Performance Scheduling Management Of The National Centre For The Performing Arts

This paper undertakes a special research about the National Centre for the Performing Arts(NCPA),aiming at “performance operation”,a core function of NCPA,and investigates the performance schedule management,a key process in the performance operation system.The performance scheduling is the leading role of the performance operation,and is the most important core business decision and production plan of a theater.Due to the fact that the Performance Operation of NCPA is featured by “large volume,high standard and normalization”and requires professionalism,refinement and internationalization,the management of NCPA's performance schedule is very complicated and with great difficulties.With the spirit of exploration,scientific thinking and long-term practice,the NCPA executive adopts the “overall planning” with modern scientific management thought and method,and upholds and refines the relevant system,process and standard.By undertaking the management of the performance schedule in a scientific and efficient way,the NCPA executive has achieved great success and laid an important theoretical and practical foundation for the successful management model for NCPA.This paper first summarizes the overall status quo of the performance management and operation in the NCPA,including the basic data,the main development course,the position and the format of the performance.Then,the schedule of NCPA and its main elements were analyzed.Afterwards,by analyzing the adoption of "overall planning" theory in the management of the performance schedule,the paper discusses the basic concept and method of overall planning method from the theoretical level.It mainly focuses on the formation of the principal system of NCPA performance schedule management and the founding of the Operation and Coordination Centre of the NCPA while using the "overall planning" methodology in the management system.After that,the paper continues to analyze the formation and change of the performance schedule of the NCPA from the practical level.Finally,the paper summarizes the main characteristics of the schedule management system of the NCPA and the significance of promoting and replicating this system.
