In February 2008, the General Office of the Ministry of Education issued The Circular on Pilot Program of "Peking Opera in Classroom" in Primary & Secondary Schools, deciding to incorporate Peking Opera into music courses at the level of Nine-Year Compulsory Education. With the releasing of the file, it has arisen a warm social discussion called "Peking Opera in Classroom ". However, as a vital measure on popularizing the traditional culture, why could it make such a big social effect? How is the feasibility of this policy? What outcomes has this policy achieved and what problems does it have? This paper analyzes and researches the ongoing situation on "Peking Opera in Classroom" program from Educational Policy Perspective, with literature methodology and survey methodology adopted.This paper includes 5 chapters. Among them,the first chapter is the introduction including the topic reasons, literature,the purpose of the research and research methodology; The second chapter is to classify the different kinds of the social discussion on "Peking Opera in Classroom" program in recent 2 years,detailed analyzing the opinion from different profit groups ;the third chapter is to describe and analyze the relative research data collected by ministry of education on "Peking Opera in Classroom" program, summarizing outcomes this policy has achieved and existing problems;the fourth chapter is to do some investigation and research on the process and effects of the "Peking Opera in Classroom" program, and the fifth chapter is to summarize and have a discussion.This paper has further discussed the achieved outcomes and existing problems through the deep account and analysis of"Peking Opera in Classroom" program, in order to supply the base of the policy formulation and practice of our national school music educational policy.
