The Analysis Of Factors Influencing Citizens' Leisure Life During Britain Industrial Revolution

The Industrial Revolution as a historical turning point in Britain brought not only the rapid development and the social evolutions, and changes of social livings. With the affect of the industrial revolution, proceed of the metropolitans was going faster and faster. And the changes of social living within were going to a new revolution. Leisure times were becoming a very important part of social activities. And its transformations during the industrial revolution were immerging a new feature. The targets of leisure were from village to the cities. New elements were added in the contents of leisure and the ways of leisure were more and more. In this essay, with the main point of the gradually increased social classes as citizens, to the factors of the evolution and drives of the ways of leisure during the industrial revolution, we analyze and exam the revolutions of the idea and patterns of leisure in the citizens with the acceleration of the industrialization and metropolis. Thus we realize the inactive importance of leisure lives for the cities and the development of the society.The main content of this paper is divided into five parts for analysis and study:In the first part, we will introduce the general urban leisure life in the industrial revolution early. Firstly we will introduce the origin of leisure concept. Secondly we will introduce the development of urban status and the specific content of urban leisure life and then we will briefly explain them so that compare and analysis the change of leisure life after the arrival of the industrial revolution. Then we will analysis on the factors of change.The second part, from the economic of the change of the British industrial Revolution, we will analysis the change of urban family system which made the contents of citizen's leisure life extent and the reasons caused it.The third part, the scope and meaning leisure life was influenced by the political progress. To analysis and explain the change of social structure and the political democratization was brought by the political progress which influenced the concept of "leisure" and led by government.The fourth part, we will analysis the idea of leisure life during British Industrial Revolution period from the change of thought and the reason which traditional customs convert into modern leisure.The fifth part, focusing changed by urbanization brought about by the urban population increase, urban function transformation, citizen stratum awareness rising. The social problems of urbanization and dealing them cause the social problem. And solving the problems reveals that the recreation of citizens is a necessary way to measure the quality of urbanization.
