As a special category of Chinese lexical system, the Chinese sensory words record the people's awareness about the outer world through their organs, and reflect the nation's cognitive process to the outside world by their own experience. Actually, it's necessary to do a linguistic analysis and research for the Chinese sensory words system. The paper uses the results of traditional philology and the theory of modern semantics, regarding the Middle Ancient Chinese sensory adjectives as the subject. Meanwhile, the study classifies the object by semantic field theory, states and analyzes its evolution of meaning process and semantic feature, and does a diachronic study for the Chinese sensory words system by the sight of semantic field. Firstly, the paper concepts and explains the sensory words from psychology and physiology, then does a macro classification of Middle Ancient Chinese sensory adjectives. At the same time, the study establishes five sub-semantic fields for analysising and summaring the members of these sub-fields in detail. The paper also establishes a pattern for sensory adjectives, to analyze and describe semantic feature of Middle Ancient Chinese sensory adjectives. Finally, the paper compares and summaries the members of Chinese sensory adjectives at different times though a diachronic study, aimed at mading a general description of the overall Chinese sensonry adjectives. The study takes sensory adjective words of Ancient Chinese as the object for the first time, and makes micro analysis and macro constructure. At the meantime, the study does synchronic and diachronic for the semantic features of Middle Ancient Chinese, making a contribution to the whole system. The paper gives the semantic feature analysis pattern of Chinese sensory adjectives which presents enlightenment for building adjectives'meaning description paradigm. The last but not the least, the paper combinations the results of traditional philology with the theory of modern semantics, expanding the fields of modern semantics.
