This thesis studies Chinese affective adjectives of“sad(??)”.Under the guidance of the Three-plane theory and the Conceptual field theory,the thesis investigates the usage of the affective adjectives of“sad(??)”in modern Chinese,and its diachronic evolution in different historical periods.This thesis is divided into four parts:The first chapter is the introduction,which mainly introduces the research content,the current research status,the research methods and the sources of corpus.The second chapter mainly investigates the usage of the semantic,syntactic and pragmatic about the affective adjectives of“sad(??)”in modern Chinese from the synchronic level.And this chapter focuses on analyzing the differences of its usage in the syntactic functions,and the reason for these differences.It is found that this is related to the connotation expressed of the affective adjectives of“sad(??)”,and also related to the human psychological cognition.The third chapter mainly examines the diachronic evolution of Chinese“sad(??)”affective adjectives in different historical periods,and analyzes its the characteristics and causes of diachronic evolution from diachronic perspective.And emphatically examines the Chinese diachronic evolution of the“sad(??)”affective adjectives from the pre-Qin period to the Yuan,Ming and Qing Dynasties.It is also found that the members of the“sad(??)”affective adjectives in Chinese is basically stable,and the development of internal members conforms to the inheritance,the gradualness and imbalance of vocabulary development in the conceptual field,and The trend that the members in the conceptual field evolve from monophonic words to polyphonic words is dominant.In addition,the diachronic evolution of Chinese affective adjectives of“sad(??)”is related to the development of language itself,and also related to the cognition of human emotions.The last chapter mainly summarizes the main content of the thesis.
