The Conceptual Change Analysis Of Book Design In Contemporaryi China By Chinese Award WInners Of "Best Book Design From All Over The World"

In the late 1990s, with the dramatic change of material producing conditions and cultural propagation mode, book design in China has undergone the process that it changed and broke through. In recent years, Chinese book design works often win the awards of"Best Book Design from All Over the World", they reflect advanced conceptions of book designing. As the epitome of China's book design changes, these winners was chosen as clues and objects for research. In this paper, we explain the transformation from"Book Binding"to"Book Designing"by study and comparison. In addition, we research the differences of their meanings, and sum up the concepts'characteristics from these standpoints: the ways of integrating tradition into contemporaneity, book designing's role in publishing, the principle of book designing. Lastly we analyze the interrelationship of the conceptual transformation, publishing circumstances and readers'culture, to cognize the essence of development, and produce effective results for the future development of book design in China.
