The phenomenon of emigration has never stopped since ancient times till now. There will be fluxion of people in the places so long as people live. The connection between countries becomes closer with the development of globalization. More and more Chinese have gone abroad since the policy of reform and openness came out. In this case, the modern emigration wave which is full of Chinese features was formed. A great deal of Chinese emigrated to overseas, which brought profound influence to the world both form politics and economy. The thesis consists four parts. The first part mainly introduces the formation of the wave of Chinese emigration since reform and openness. The essential reason for the wave is unbalanced development of economy between countries. In addition, there are many objective reasons. The second part mainly discusses the performances of the wave of Chinese emigration. There are eight emigration modes. The third part mainly analyses the characteristics of Chinese emigration wave since the policy of reform and openness came out. It mainly consists of widely distribute scope of emigration and the changes of emigration. The forth part mainly discusses the influences of reform and openness upon the Chinese emigration wave. It mainly studies the gains and losses of three aspects include China, the world and emigrants. There will be a deep understanding about the formation of emigration wave, the characteristics of emigration wave and the profound influence of emigration wave by the study of Chinese emigration wave since reform and openness. This study has a profound function and magnificent realistic meaning for the emigration research.
