Since the Qin and Han dynasties, from the point of region, the ancient Chinese major trouble on the north frontier moved from northwest to the northeast. For the Central Plains, from the Qin and Han to the Tang Dynasty, the main threat came from the Northwest Territories. Of course, it didn't mean that there was no threat from the northeast, but the Huns, Turkic, Tibetan and other minority political power brought a greater threat to Central Plains with the point of impact. After the Tang Dynasty, Khitan, Jurchen and Mongol minority which rose in the northeast brought greater threat to the Central Plains.Similarly, we can find that after the Tang Dynasty, as the dominant area of the Chinese feudal society, the northwest which centered on the Guanzhong Plain in particular Changan lost the economic and political center position gradually. Because of the frequent wars and deteriorating natural conditions, the northwest lost its former glory. To some extent, for the nomads, the northwest appeal was abound to decline. In contrast, the economy and politic of the Jiangnan region had made great development. After a long time exploit, the eastern area also made progress, which is to ensure the minority of the northeast often invaded the Central Plains and even established the political power. The paper elaborates that the major trouble on the north frontier of the ancient China came from the northwest to northeast. Minimizing the dynasties and the geographical limitations, the paper intends to illustrate the transfer trends, and the history of geographical factors.
