In the history of American literature, Pearl S. Buck is a very special writer. Due to the long living in China, so her understanding of China and Chinese culture even more than the United States and American culture , but also naturally formed the Western dual cultural identity. In 1938, she won the Chinese theme of the novel Nobel Prize for Literature, making her the "cultural hybrid" literary reputation. Therefore, from the perspective of blending Chinese and Western cultures Pearl S. Buck and its literary worth Infiltration to be studied.I selected "Imperial Woman"from the Pearl S. Buck's unique cultural identity of the double cut, blend in the background of Chinese and Western cultures of her dual narrative features, elucidation of the aesthetic characteristics of the two cultures, and the female through her characters to reflect the thinking of her culture.First, based on the author's identity, Pearl S. Buck something to show to the public a cultural exchange between the literary world of binary and clearly convey her Chinese and Western thought: standing position of the Chinese people, from the perspective of the Chinese people to observe the psychological novel, likes and dislikes, feelings and emotions, flexible use of narrative methods of Chinese Literature, spread plot, highlights the very Chinese style of writing. The same time, due to family, education and other factors, her creative thinking there must be distinctive characteristics of Western literature, such as the style of Dickens, Shakespeare style, love of Christ feelings and so on.Second, based on the women's identity, Pearl S. Buck instinctively concerned about the fate of women, always thinking about women's issues, Created a series of memorable female image: There are unknown, submissive Alan, new thinking is gradually being modified Guilan, a represents the ideals, knowledge of the progress women called Meilin ... ... these women are actually intermixed Double Pearl Buck's Western culture. Finally, western feminist consciousness narrative technique and the history embodied in the novel the "Imperial Woman ".The "Imperial Woman" is the only one to Pearl S. Buck of Chinese historical figures to create a prototype of the novel, in the cultural environment in China, but also with the conflict and fusion of Western culture. Different cultures meet, intersect, blending, so create a Pearl S. Buck from other writers have described the Empress of China: traditional and rebellious characters; both Chinese women's traditional rituals, filial piety, and western culture under the self-consciousness, is a Chinese and Western integrated image.I believe that Pearl Buck's works in cross-language, cross-cultural context of this particular culture has important implications, and the creation of her depth and meticulous research has important theoretical and practical significance.
