With the development of China's market economy and the expansion of the opening up duringthe 1990s, consumerism culture of globalization has flooded speedily into China.The theatre in chinacan not avoid the influence of consumerism culture.Meng Jinghui is the most forceful dramatist whois in response to the consumerism culture. He has started to shoulder "pioneer"'s big flags and begunto build up the fortune from the Experimental Drama and mini-theatres.After the 1990s, Meng Jinghuimaked use of a market to make a power after, especially since the"rhinoceros being in love" hasmade out a series works of the urban modern drama likes the "large-investment film" such as "amber","affair", which have obtained a commercial profit. Meng Jinghui's "pioneer" attitude is a kind ofstrategy in consumer society, and he departs from his own definition of "pioneer" attitude. Essence ofhis drama is based on a kind of pleasure principle, ideographic pattern, and he puts visual impact andemotional desires as the main objective of narrative. Its characterization which towards toconsumerism culture is spectacle-oriented, Carnival which oversets the traditional narrative theaterand creates a "Meng"s pleasure" to meet the desires of the audience in order to achieve business value.In this paper, the dimension of history and logic demonstrated that the "Pioneer" and consumerism arenot mutually exclusive; on the contrary, the two characterizations can be syncretized. Commercial andpioneering nature of these two forces are formed of a "conspiracy." ,in Meng Jinghui's plays and 90years of a considerable number of so-called Little Theater, Pioneer Theater .Meng Jinghui's dramaticshift of consumerism and exploration has typical significance,but he also has limitationsThe Introduction of this article explores some of the issues raised and study of the status quo athome and abroad, summing up to clarify the theory used in this article, methods, and innovations ofthis article.The first chapter deals with consumerism and cultural context and Meng Jinghui's drama, definesthe concept of a culture of consumerism, while discussed in the dialectical relationship between thetwo, and then combine the text of the Pioneer and Meng Jinghui's dramatic shift of the internalrelations of consumerism.The second part will combine drama, Meng Jinghui's specific text, by analyzing the "spectacle" of"Carnival" these most two typical cultural characteristics of consumerism patterns and found that theinteraction between the text of Meng Jinghui drama and culture of consumerism. At last, I willcombine the crises during 1990s and Meng Jinghui drama's inheritance from traditional Chineseaesthetics, "music" spirit .And then I will summarize the reason of Meng Jinghui's shift based on internal and external factor.On the last part of the article ,I reflect gains and losses of Meng Jinghui's drama, thus calling forthe arrival of the humanistic spirit.
