The Study Of The Special Favor Bestowed On Seigniorial Heirs In Ming Dynasty

Bestowing special favor is an important content that studied seigniorial heir system in Ming Dynasty. This papers mainly studied seigniors who bestowed their special favor , systematically stated the development of bestowing special favor according to different historical period.When some seigniors had no sons on the First Son of the Lineal Descents Inheritance System, the rulers of Ming Dynasty tried to bestow their special favor on those seigniors, allowing them to have heirs. However, the sharp increase of the seigniors with bestowed favor led to the tendency of generalization. During the periods of Jiajing, Longqing and Wanli, Emperor took measures to solve their bestowing special favor on those seignior,and promulgated HUANGMINGZUXUN and MINGHUIDIAN.Finally, the rulers change the seigniorial heir system to stop their bestowing special favor on those seigniors. Although the special favor bestowed by the royal family was constrained to some extent, the fundamental drawbacks of the system finally became a serious problem of Ming Dynasty.
