Regional culture has not been a fresh subject. In the ancient time, people have already paid attention the cultural distinctions of different regions. For example, there are solemn frontier poems and serene landscape pastorals of Southern China in the lyrics of Tang Dynasty; the lyrics of Song Dynasty is divided into unrestrained literary school, that is poets employing great and grand words to show their patriotism, and restrained literary school, that is poets employing exquisite and emotive words to show their sentimentalism. The former poets are mostly northerners whereas the latter southerners. Nevertheless just in recent years, regional culture, as a point of view, has been frequently applied in literary analysis and explanation. The blooming of regional culture as a point of view owes a lot to the flourish of contemporary literature. Foreign literary theory has been invited in China and becomes poplular. At the same time, people begin to open their minds, instead of confining their thoughts toward literature in a limited range. A lot of writers and works begin to mirror the life of certain regions with consciousness. There appears a group of writers with their works full of Localism, such as Eastern Zhejiang Localism, Western Hunan Literature of Shen Congwen, Peking Literature, Shangzhou Literature of Jia Pingwa, Gechuan River Literature of Li Hangyu and the Northeast Black Soil Literature of Chi Zijian, etc. Tie Ning, contemporary writer, is famous for her acumen as a female. Generally, readers and researchers pay more attention to the meditation and research of women's destiny and human nature in her works. In addition, readers and critics also admire her concise and yet changeable language and special design of images in novel as well as her unique conception toward arts, life and world in prose. Definitely, these are outstanding in Tie Ning's works, however cultural spirit is the crucial inner element that follows with a writer throughout his or her whole life and decides the writer's way of thinking, aesthetic taste and value conception. Writer's cultural psyche determines their works' focus,value orientation and aesthetic standard. It can be said that without culture being foundation, any of the works is waters without sources or woods without roots. Thereupon, it is greatly regrettable that the regional culture features of Tie Ning's fictions have been ignored for so long a time.Due to her living location shifting from city to countryside and then back to city, while her writing theme transferring from countryside to city and then back to countryside, Tie Ning 's fictions possess the regional culture features of both Beijing and Hebei, which can be easily found after researching her fiction creating process. The regional culture features of Hebei are mainly reflected in Tie Ning's works about countryside, for example,Oh,Sweet Snow,Benhua,The Wheat Straw Stack,The Cotton Stack,The Grass Stack,San Chou Ye and Lao Chou Ye,etc. While the regional culture features of Beijing are all presented by city theme, for example, How Far Is Forever,The Rose Gate,Bathing Woman,Death Penalty and The Governer Diary,etc. Beijing and Hebei regional culture are both originated from Yanzhao culture, therefore absolutely the regional culture features of two regions reflected in Tie Ning's works can be called together as Yanzhao regional culture feature. This thesis is based on the ancient Yanzhao culture and combined with the principal features of modern Beijing and Hebei culture to analyze regional culture features of Tie Ning's fictions. It is a brand-new explanation to her fictions from a fresh point of view.
