Large amounts of regional customs that are full of local characteristics and the elements of the time are embodied in Wang's works, and in the poetic atmosphere, the works, focusing on the description of the people, deliver the author's reflection and perception of life. Under the aesthetic principle of"art comes from life and is above life"and based on the combination of the beauty of local customs, the beauty of the human nature and the beauty of human sympathy, the works have confirmed the value of individual's outlook on life, granted the connotation of the coexistence of diverse cultural themes and expressed the desire for a harmonious life. This article makes a classification of Wang's works according to geographical features and different periods. Furthermore, the author makes an analysis on the relationship between Wang's writing practice starting from the 1940s and extending to the 1980s when he achieved his late success and his warm memories on his hometown and the spiritual world, after which the author gives an integrated interpretation of the important influence the various life experiences have cast on his view of life, literature and the world. On this basis, together with Wang's literature stand, the author has made an overall comprehension of Wang's values of taking the golden mean, the pursuit of going with the flow, the beautiful gentle style of writing features and the pursuit of a harmonious view of literature. Subsequently, the author makes an exploration on the literary trend that is immersed in strong geographical atmosphere, which takes the South-China culture as its foundation and integrates different local features. As to the artistic technique, after reflection and filtering of the real life, Wang chooses to construct his story in the gentle manner of romanticism by diluting the plots and avoiding sharp transformation between extreme emotions as well as the heroic narrative theme. By this means, Wang inherits and innovates the literary tradition of liberalism, and presents a mood that embraces both the elegance and mediocre tastes.
