| Modern society of North Shaanxi shares the same breath with modern China. Each change in China has a significant impact on North Shaanxi. North Shaanxi storytelling, a folk vocal art, is used to express people's feelings, which is wide spread popular in modern north Shaanxi. The present paper summarizes the interaction of north Shaanxi and the change in modern society of north Shaanxi through analyzing and studying storytelling of north Shaanxi which reflects the contents and characteristics of change in northern Shaanxi society. This paper consists of four chapters. The first chapter including the form of north Shaanxi storytelling,northern storytellers in subject matter and the reasons why north Shaanxi storytelling is widely popular in modern north Shaanxi. The second chapter describes and discusses great famine, folk custom and so on in mordern north Shaanxi before Yanan period. These issues are reflected in north Shaanxi storytelling and are consistent and confirmed in local Code-chi. The third chapter explores politics, economics, culture and education, revolutionary politics and ditching bad habits and so on. These contents are recorded in north Shaanxi storytelling and are confirmed in historical records. The fourth chapter summarizes the mutual influences of north Shaanxi storytelling and the changes in modern society of north Shaanxi. At last a conclusion is drawn that the relation north Shaanxi storytelling and the changes in modern society of north Shaanxi is reflection and reflected and affecting and be affected.
