The Inhibition Research Of Hypnotic Suggestion On Stroop Interfere Effect

Hypnosis is a social interaction in which one person, called the subject, acts on suggestions from another person, called the hypnotist, for imaginative experiences involving alterations in cognition and voluntary action.A new approach was provided for directly cognitive research due to hypnosis and suggestion.the functional modulation of cognitive performance with hypnotic suggestion could be achieved,one compelling line of research exploring attention and attentional conflict has involved the suppression of the Stroop Effect using a hypnotic suggestion that disrupted lexical processing; However,the results about whether the Stroop Interfere Effect could be removed or reduced and the influence of hypnotic suggestion on the Stroop Interfere Effect of second language of the bilingual are still inconsistency.Three experiments were used to explore the influence of posthypnotic suggestion in stroop interfere effect tasks on both high and low suggestibility participants.The three variances in the experiments respectively were hypnotizability,consciousness and stimulus materials.The posthypnotic suggestion used in the experiment one was 'meaningless symbols will appear in the middle of the screen.They will fell lke characters of a foreign language that you do not know,and you will not attempt to attribute any meaning to them'.The results showed that there are no significant difference both on ACC and RT of high and low suggestibility people in different consciousness.The posthypnotic suggestion used in the experiment two was 'you should focus your attention on the right bottom of the materials rather than the stimulus itself.' The results indicated that there are significant difference both on ACC and RT.Moreover,the difference on the consciousness and materials is also significant.In terms of ACC,there is significant interaction on hypnotizability and consciousness,consciousness and materials.However,no significant difference was found on these three variances-hypnotizability and materials,the consciousness,hypnotizability and materials.To RT,a significant difference has been found on each two variances and the total three variances.The posthypnotic suggestion in the experiment one was used to explore the influence of posthypnotic suggestion on the second language of the bilingual in the SIE.The results indicated that there is no significant difference on ACC.However,in terms of RT,significant difference was found on the consciousness and materials for different participants.The further analysis also showed that there is significant interaction on hypnotizability and consciousness,consciousness and materials.However,the difference on the consciousness and materials is not significant,moreover,no significant difference was found on these three variances-hypnotizability and materials,the consciousness,hypnotizability and materials.The following conclusions were made in this paper:1. Not all hypnotic suggestion could inhibit the Stroop Interfere Effect.The cross-cultural consistency was not got under the research paradigm of Raz and different suggestion was need for different stimulus.2. The Stroop Interfere Effect could be successfully removed by proper hypnotic suggestion and the results indicated that the Chinese Stroop Interfere Effect could be removed by suggestion that 'you should focus your attention on the right bottom of the materials rather than the stimulus itself.'3. The proper hypnotic suggestion and the hypnotic induce procedure could successfully removed the Stroop Interfere Effect rather than just reduced the Stroop Interfere Effect.Furthermore,the remove of this effect is possible depend on various elements at the same time.4. The Stroop Interfere Effect could be successfully removed by posthypnotic suggestion on high suggestibility participants,there is,however,no significant influence on low suggestibility participants.It is possible that there is difference about cognitive characteristics between high and low suggestibility people.5. The Stroop Interfere Effect of mother language and the second language of bilingual maybe influenced by different types of hypnotic suggestion and the effect of this two suggestions maybe independently.
