Jung's Archetype Theory And Its Value In Rebuilding The Contemporary Literature Theory

At the turning of 80s and 90s in the 20th century , once , there was a fashion in studying Jung' s Archetype Theory . besides handsome fruits born , many a Chinese versions of Jung , review books .introductory articles have been laid out . Jung' s Archetype theory has been applied to interpret the enormous phenomena in Chinese literature , from new perspectives and aspects , the fresh , penetrating and insightful works have been issued . In these works , Jung' s theory has been exercised assimilating into the practice of Chinese literature effectively . Meanwhile, pitfalls and drawbacks existed in these practices . mainly , there are two points : A , the close union is not enough , thus , at some extent, which hinder the expansion development. of Jung' s theory ; B , the confusion of concepts of Jung and Frye' s Archetype in the researchers barriers the insightful interpretations of the two distinct archetypes . What' s more , it hurdles the pivotal points to full understanding of Jung and Frye' s theory , and the two outstanding figures and their thoughts . Therefore , the purpose of this thesis is that: first, to probe the connotation of Jung' s archetype concept , to point out the distinctiveness and similarity between the two archetypes of Jung and Frye ; Secondly , to exercise and apply Jung' s theory into the practices of contemporary literature theory.To look after its inspiration and apocalypse in Chinese Literature starting from the foundation laid down by the former explorers, I seize the facts that the fuzzy , developing, changeable features of Jung's illustration to his archetype theory, try to overpass Jung's concrete analysis of archetype , seek the distinctive role the "eternal carefulness" plays in this archetype theory . Finally , bear the conclusion that Jung' s eternal carefulness - psychic integration is archetype which patently shows the power system of Archetype Theory , and its expressive mechanism . Further, I make a tentative investigation on the essential disparities existing in Jung and Frye' s archetype , and the differences opinions existing in their understanding of literature .In these discussion , I grasp the essence of the three chords literature theory -literature and archetype , literature function , literature creativeness , to expand the discourse .
