On The Phenomena Of The Mass Media Of Macao Literature

Nowadays, literature communication has become a new area of study for the scholars of literature and art sector. In this thesis, attempts were made to see the general situation of the local literature in Macao from the view point of the mass media and to explore the relations between literature and communication and their difficult positions. Based on the theories of mass communication, of literature and art, and on the doctrines of social psychology, this study analyzed the relation between the public requirement from literature, the preference of the authors creation, the acceptance of the general public and the cultural changes etc., upon which conclusions are drawn out regarding what role the mass media is playing in these relations. It has found out from this study that one of the important factors, which affects the progress of literature development in Macao, is that the prevalence of the mass media has not yet been fully utilized. The methods used in this study principally are: analyses of the present situation, questionnaire and verification of theories. The purpose of this study is to try to use the relative theories of communication, to compare and analyze the patterns of literature communication in the mass media sector of Macao and their tendency of evolution. Some points of view and suggestions are humbly introduced as a preliminary exploration of the study of literature communication in Macao.
