Language changes and develops with the changing,developing society.So,in social linguistists?eyes,language is a dymanic system which has been changing gradually.This is the theoritical basis of my dissertation.This dissertation is also an attemption to inspect the linguistic usage states in the same period from the angle of the social linguistics.The objects of the study are three generations of He Nan people who live in the processing faetory,the 131st Regirnent,the 7th Devision,Xin Jing Production and Construction Corps.It describes the phonetic and vocabulary evolution of Shang Cai dialect which is spoken in He Nan province.The purpose of the dissertation is to probe the causes which led to the linguistic variation. It also centers on the external factors which have caused the linguistic changing such as collective immigration, social surroundings,educational backgrouds, career,attitudes,the mess media ,sexual distiction,age, conversational situations,eonversational objects,conversational topics,the relations between the speakers and so on.
