Si Ma Qian was a famous historian of Han dynasty: and 1 u Xun was a writer, thinker and historian of modern China. Si Ma Qian's Shi Ji has made him eternal, while Lu Xun's large quantity of literary works greatly influence the Inter generations. Though the times when they lived were more than two thousand years apart, they were both great writers and historians, and from their letters .we can experience the same spirit in their inner world.As a historiographer. Si Ma Qian was loyal to his duty and truly recorded the history. His huge bitter experiences spurred him on to put all his energies ink) writing. While recording the history, his works express the author's strong personal feelings. and contain his deep pondering over the society, life and its value. We can also heat the author's querying and revolting voices againsl the social inequality. Lu Xun grew in a family walking down in the world and he lived in a society where the rich were richer and tiie poor were poorer. Inconstancy of human relationships and social darkness forced him to analyze problems coolly. and gave him the eyes to loob through the world, especially the surge of Western philosophy and literature further strengthened his analyzing thinking. Dissatisfying the darkness and backwardness of the society. Lu Xun tried to suggest the plans to cure the society to give the "attention of treatment", and the essays were his primary weapon, When Lu Xun mentioned writing essays, he said it again and again that the aim was to "release the anger and express the emotion", "unfold indignation". From his freezing irony and burning satire, we can feel his strong sense of responsibility and mission.The artiJe compares Si Ma Qian And Lu Xun Mainly from the following three points: their historic philosophy. Si Ma Qian's "putting all his energies into writing" and Lu Xun's "releasing the anger and express the emotion". the tragic consciousness of Si Ma Qian And Lu Xun. From the comparison. I try to make a thorough inquiry into their common grounds and differences between their ideas guiding the literary creation and the comments on the important historie figures, What's more, while comparing, we can learn that, as a successor .Lu Xun not only carried on the inheritance of Si Ma Qian . but developed and surpassed Si MA Qian either in the ideas of writing or the forms of expresson.
