In the process of changing from others-discipline into self-discipline of the arts creation, flatness is the most essential character, and abstraction is the inevitable form should be adopted. By the analysis of the development process of the self- discipline of the painting of the modernism and the concrete practices of the arts media which plays a negative factor in the traditional arts, this article tells the exploration of the modernized painting to its own domain, and puts forwards that the rationality of the existence independently of the painting and the concept of "pure arts".
