Chapter 1 is the introduction of explaining the motive and methods of the research in this thesis. The novels of Eileen Chang express misty, sentimental, and desolate style. Because Eileen Chang puts the sex role of female, psychological conflict, relationship of emotional desire and restrain of pressure into her work. This thesis will adopt the methods of literary analyze to sort and conclude how Eileen Chang annotate the issues of female in "Feng Suo", and to refine the notion of eroticism in her novel.Chapter 2. Description of "Feng Sao" and "Yan Qing". This chapter points out the new definition of "Feng Sao" and "Yan Qing" annotated by many critics and it's meaningful when all the works about men and women's love (Yan Qing) project to contemporary reality of religion and politics (Feng Sao). Through the theme, it explains the point of view to make the writing of female and the speech of emotional desire covering with morality and politics meanings, and this annotation ignores the real position of female writing and its complicated meaning.Chapter 3 . Erotic writing in classical Chinese literature. This chapter discuss the literal meaning of eroticism in "The song of Odes" and "Chu Ci", in which the combined meaning of " Feng Sao" and "Yan Qing" are presented under the premise of guileless mind. The notion of eroticism is then turned into a sense of pure carnal desire.Chapter 4. The art of narration in "Feng Suo", and its contrast with "Feng Sao" and "Yan Qing". This chapter discusses how to imply the metaphoric meaning of "Feng Sao" by flirting writing, through the characteristic of Eileen's novels, the uniqueness of shifting in narrative view in "Feng Suo", natural narrative tone, the art of side writing, the compassionate tone and satirical art of Eileen's novel.Chapters. The metaphor of "Feng Suo". This chapter analyzes the individual love and carnal desire of Eileen Chang through isolated impression, the metaphor of "Feng Suo", the reappearance of the theme, the allegory of color, the modeling of character.Chapter 6. Understand Eileen Chang's mind through the roles of "Feng Suo". This chapter places emphasis on analyzing responsibility and isolated life of human being in order to present the characteristic of man's desire and the mould of actual life as well as criticize real good man.Chapter 7. Erotic poetic in "Feng Suo". This chapter emphasizes the female erotic writing through it's erotic allusion, self-contradiction, depress, marriage and carnal desire of female. On the other hand, the literal writing meaning of male in Eileen Chang's novels will be discussed.Chapter 8 is conclusion. This chapter summarizes three main points of "Feng Suo":1. The erotic writing of Eileen points out that sorrow of female comes from the image of traditional boudoir.2. In order to get self-liberation, female has to break through the concept of being regarded as a subject by man.3. Carnal desire of female, which has been depressed for a long time, has to be untied through the novels of Eileen.
