A Study Of Classifier Measure Words In Tang And Wudai Dynasty

Classifier measure word is one of the characters of Chinese. Up to now,we know not enough about its history. This thesis takes the classifier measure words in Tang and Wudai dynasty as the object of study. That is because we hope to do somework for establishing the scientific developing history of classifier measure word,and also provide some new material for Chinese history.This thesis analyses at some length the situation of classifier measure words in Tang and Wudai dynasty by the means of combing synchronic description and diachronic research. For the classifier measure words which appeared before Tang dynasty,this thesis emphases on its changing situation hi Tang and Wudai dynasty. For those classifier measure words which appeared just in Tang dynasty,this thesis analyses the character and the reason why they appeared and describes the state in this period. At the same time,based on this special description,this thesis notices to compare it with former and later documents and modern Chinese. It reveals the appearance and the character of classifier measure words in Tang and Wudai dynasty and affirms the importance of Tang and Wudai dynasty in Chinese classifier measure word history.
