A systemic and theoretic dissertating is given toward this opinion: from the angle of the types of literature, ci poetry is a new -type of poetry different from Jinti-poetry, which has more kinds of rules and forms. Ci poetry is a fruit of lyrics being given limited rules and forms. Number statistic and comparison in rules and forms is done toward each tonal patterns and rhyme schemes of ci poetry and the works in Tang and Wudai Dynasty. The outline of the forming of the tonal patterns and rhyme schemes of ci poetry and the type of ci poetry is drawn like this: In the medium-period of Tang Dynasty, the responsory writing of poetry is influential to the forms of some tonal patterns and rhyme schemes of ci poetry. In the latter-period of Tang Dynasty, a mass of new tonal patterns and rhyme schemes of ci poetry come forth. And Wudai Dynasty is a period when the literators grope their way all-sided for the tonal patterns and rhyme schemes of ci poetry and also for the type of ci poetry.
