This paper has two sections. In the first section, the studies of the psychological health of 427 parent-absent students in six middle schools in Fuqing City were conducted with the Symptom Checklist 90 ( SCL ?90) Questionnaire. The Interview and Questionnaire methodologies were employed. The finding of the studies is that the psychological health level of the parent-absent middle school students in the Fuqing City is lower than the average level of the middle school students nationwide. With references to relevant studies conducted on the middle school students in the country, the study shows that the psychological health of the parent-absent students is a prominent problem. The psychological states differ among parent-absent students in different schooling grades and in different genders. The major factors affecting the psychological health of the parent-absent students are: the duration of parents' absence, the style of guardianship, student' s gender, schooling grade, and whether a parent-absent student lives with his (her) siblings. In the second section, based on the analysis of the data collected, the importance of educating the parent-absent students is illustrated, and relevant educational solutions to the existing psychological health problems are proposed.
