Entering a period of dramatic physical and mental development, middle school students are being surrounded and affected by their parents, who play a significant role in their cognition, personality, socializing and psychological health. In order to have a better understanding of psychological situation and draw a clear comparison of middle school students both from single-parent family and two-parent family, this thesis turns to MHT,revised by Professor Zhou, associated with other scholars,to perform a survey among those students, which indicates:1)from a full scale, their psychological health status is in the middle level, comparing the east part with the west part, due to anxiety,super-response tendency, physical conditions and self-accusation tendency;2)The items where students from single-parent family and two-parent family behave apparently differently includes:super-response tendency and physical symptoms;the ratio of boys, psychological problems;self-accusation tendency and physical symptoms of boys;the self-accusation tendency,super-response tendency, physical symptoms and impulsion tendency of junior students;super-response tendency of non-resident students.Among all those respects, students from single-parent family show a relative lower performance compared with those from two-parent family. In terms of differences in single-parent and two-parent families, students from the former one, needless to say,do perform poorly than students from the later, but when take other factors into account, those two groups of students show less obvious difference. Thus,we teachers should treat their difference with an equal attitude, take on positive psychological interference, call on all strength from the society, especially the parents and teacher,to create a better environment for their growth. This thesis is divided into five parts to compare and analyze the psychological conditions of current middle school students.
