A Study On The Evolution Of "Shu Hua" Characters' Tones In Jin Dialect

The thesis researching on the evolution of the medieval "Rusheng" characters' tones in Jin dialect,classify Jin dialect into nine types by analyzing the characteristics and trends of Shuhua characters in Jin dialect.Then from the angle of the evolution of Rusheng tones,it discussed the relationship between Jin dialect and mandarin.Different parts of Jin dialect area is surrounded by different sorts of mandarin,showing different phonological characteristics.Therefore,in order to further research,the thesis analyzes nowadays tones of Shuhua characters of 119 surveyed sites one by one firstly,and then based on the characteristics of the tone's evolution,it classifies Jin dialect into three types such as "one-way-diverted","two-ways-diverted" and "three-way-diverted".And each type includes different small types:"one-way-diverted" types:1.Changzhi type:most of Shuhua characters pronounce Qusheng whether their initials are Qing or Zhuo;2.Suide type:most of Shuhua characters pronounce a tone which is similar to the site's Rusheng tone whether their initials are Qing or Zhuo;"two-ways-diverted" types:1.Lishi type:Shuhua characters whose initials are Qing or Tsizhuo pronounce Qusheng,Shuhua characters whose initials are Quanzhuo pronounce Shangsheng;2.Datong type:Shuhua characters whose initials are Qing or Tsizhuo pronounce Qusheng,Shuhua characters whose initials are Quanzhuo pronounce Yangping in some sites and Pingsheng in others;3.Qingjian type:Shuhua characters whose initials are Qing or Tsizhuo pronounce Shangsheng,Shuhua characters whose initials are Quanzhuo pronounce Yangping;4.Fenxi type:Shuhua characters whose initials are Qing or Tsizhuo pronounce Yinping in some sites and Pingsheng in others,Shuhua characters whose initials are Quanzhuo pronounce Yangping;"three-way-diverted" types:1.Zhaiiakou tvae:Shuhua characters whose initials are Qing pronounce Yinping in some sites and Pingsheng in others,Shuhua characters whose initials are Tsizhuo pronounce Qusheng,Shuhua characters whose initials are Quanzhuo pronounce Yangping;2.Chicheng type:different Shuhua characters whose initials are Qing pronounce different tones,Shuhua characters whose initials are Tsizhuo pronounce Qusheng,Shuhua characters whose initials are Quanzhuo pronounce Yangping.Among them,Shuhua rates of Changzhi type and Lishi type is very low,the others have obvious phenomenon of Shuhua.Through the analysis of the eight types,the thesis finds that Jin dialect have areal,regional level's,gradual transition's characteristics,and summarizes the distributed characteristics of the above types in Jin dialect:Datong type is a transition layer,which encircles Changzhi and Lishi types,and was encircled by Zhangjiakou,Fenxi and Chicheng types.From the centre to the edge of Jin dialect,the phonology of surveyed sites were influenced by mandarin more and more obviously.Based on eight types of Jin Shu Hua,thesis compares the different area of Jin dialect to different mandarin.For example,it compares Zhangjiakou type to Jilu mandarin,Fenxi type to Zhongyuan mandarin,Datong type to Lanyin mandarin,and Suide type to Yinwu area of Lanyin mandarin..And because Zhongyuan mandarin and Lanyin mandarin belong to the type of "two-ways-diverted" according to Mr Liu Xunning,the thesis take the stand that Jin dialect is near to Lanyin mandarin and Zhongyuan mandarin in relationship.
