There is a special phenomenon in the emerging and developing of Chinese new poetry that its original writing is mainly created by Chinese overseas students. The different culture and surroundings cut off the writers from their own culture , which made their minds shake off the yoke of the feudal ethical code and culture. The new, open and different outer surroundings aroused their writing passion. They reformed bravely and absorbed the foreign culture's nutrient. The change of the writers' minds resulted in the early new poetry's separating from the poetic tradition in the outer from and the inner spirit. Hu shi gave the birth to Chinese new poetry, and Quo moruo, Wen yiduo, Xu zhimo and Li jinfa verified the given form and the the traditional topics, which made the poetry's form, artistic law. And essence develop more deeply. The new poetry that was created by them not only is imitated by the others, but also its form and connotation are handed down on till today. This kind of poetry became the basement of modem and post modern poetry. This group of overseas students obsorbed the foreign culture and literature bravely or even unconditionally, thus their failure and success can be used as reference to today's poets.
