Chinese Poetry Union was a group, which held consciousness of "catch hold of realism" and "sing for the new century in the masses' melody " in Chinese new poetry history. "YangSao" was a name that was often mentioned among this group, but people have paid their attention to commonness of this group and have neglected to YangSao's characteristic. So trough my thesis, I want to point out unique value and the action of reference of YangSao' poem in Chinese new poetry history.This thesis is composing of three parts. Chapter 1 is talking about different contents of poems on earlier stage and later stage. This chapter mostly use social and historical methods to comment, and with different causes of formation in the background. A lonely dream-pursuing man who had sentimental mind is a main facet in poem's earlier stage. A pen-holding fighter who had lofty mind is another facet in poem's later stage. From main contents of YangSao's two stages, we can see the leading emotional of that turbulent age. So they show typical character of different age. Chapter 2: firstly, I look for the relation between Chinese classic poem and YangSao's poem through interpreting on image of theme. Secondly, from the point of view of comparative research, this part analyzes what had YangSao learnt from Symbolism and aestheticism and how he changed into our national aesthetics style. In course of these kinds of reference, we can see the course that modern poetry makes great efforts to build and develop itself. Chapter 3: It was a connecting ling between the preceding and the following in 1930's. I seek to find the heredity from the revolted spirit of "wusi", and to look for its influence on 1940's poetry. Then this chapter tries to find YangSao's indispensable value base on these facts. In the end of my thesis, I want to point out that YangSao and his poem have important enlightenment to our intellectual and literature of the time.On these base of research above, my thesis try to reappear a vivid and true poet, a "common and great" man. See through YangSao's inspirits of poem, we can find projection of that age, can find a blend of poet's blood and national soul, on the other hand, through the movement of YangSao' style, we can find out the tendency of history of Chinese new poetry. In a sense, YangSao and his poem have a comprehensive meaning and stand an important place in literary history, moreover, they show us unique value and significance.
