Ideal personality, as an important part of Chinese culture, not only had a deep-going and protracted effect on social culture in the ancient, but also has a very close relationship with the process of the modernization of China today. It has been becoming a major issue of whether China can push on the construction of the modernization to pursue ideal personality. The reason is that if not experiencing a characteristic transition from tradition to modern times, only remaining at the level of the modernization of material improvement and the like, the country can't successfully stride into the ranks of modern country which themselves have the capability of developing sustaining. So the issue of the ideal personality is never a pure theoretical one, it contains the important realistic values and practical meanings.Feng Qi's theory of ideal personality has very profuse content. Few scholars at present systematically discuss the theory of his, for many of them briefly discuss it as a part of the Theory of Wisdom. The article only preliminarily explores and expounds its theoretical premise, fundamental content, origins of thoughts and its modernity and foresight and so on for the purpose of roughly sketching and summarizing its overall style and its mental outlook. It is expected to furnish some references and enlightenment to the construction of the theory of the socialist ideal personality and provide an ideal of value, which is expectable, credible and lovable, for the contemporary people with it as a turning point, to make everyone the man of a new type, which has definite judgments, individuality and full confidence of his own, not the servant, which is absolutely obedient, to make everyone live a happy and free life.
