Taoism boomed in Yuan Dynasty. Because heads of Taoism saved innumerous persons from chaos caused by war, and recommend many Confucian scholars to be officers, Taoism won widespread deference and embrace.Heads of Taoism characterized by the trait of scholar-bureaucrat, therefore, Taoist priests and Confucian scholars always made friends each other. Influenced by the ideology tide, there were many poets who lived in seclusion and imitated Taoist priests in Yuan Dynasty. Yang "Weizhen is a representative of them. However, most of these poets were not real Taoist priests. Taking Yang Weizhen for example, it can be concluded that, living in seclusion and imitating Taoist priest had a close relation with particular cultural background of lacking profound concern of Confucianism, and was the Taoism practice based on Confucian ideal, being influenced greatly by Taoism, which coordinated with and incorporated Confucianism at that time.Among poets of Yuan Dynasty are many Taoist priests, one of whom is Qiu Chuji, a famous head of Quanzhen Taoism. But Qiu Chuji had higher achievement of thought than that of aesthetics. Taoistic poems written by poets in the Taoist art tide, were abundant and ranked the top of poems by aesthetic standard in Yuan Dynasty. According to the direct or indirect method of being influenced, Taoistic poems can be divided into two categories correspondingly. Those poems influenced directly by Taoism includes intercourse eulogy between poets and priests, and depressed Taoist landscape poems. Those poems influenced indirectly by Taoism includes poems imitating placid style and autarkic reclusion of Tao Yuanming, poems imitating unrestricted style and fairyism of Li Bai and Li He, and poems admiring Taoist inclusion and deity's immortality.
