As a new field of the memory study, the study of source memory is increasingly attached importance to. In the source-monitoring framework, Johnson deduces that source monitoring is based on characteristics of memories in combination with judgment. This framework also describes three source-monitoring situations: internal source monitoring, external source monitoring, and reality monitoring. To amend and extend the experiment result of John M Rybash(1997), there are three experiments in this article with different cognitive process levels in three source-monitoring situations respectively. In experiment 1 we test the influence of voice and meaning process levels in the internal source monitoring, and the result is that achievement of the internal source monitoring with meaning process level is better than with voice process level; In experiment 2 we test the influence of grapheme and meaning process levels in the external source monitoring, and the result is that the error rates of the external source monitoring with meaning process level is worse than with grapheme but the difference just is margin marked; In experiment 3 we test the influence of voice and meaning process levels in the reality source monitoring, and the result is that achievement of the reality source monitoring with meaning process level is better than with voice process level. In this article we made such a conclusion that the effect of the different cognitive process levels in three source-monitoring situations is different. The effect of meaning process in the internal source monitoring and reality monitoring is significant, but in the external source monitoring it is not so good.
