A Preliminary Discussion On The Cultural Regions Of Warring States

Before the formation of Han culture, our national culture had a rapid development in the period of warring states .Because of the difference of life and production style ,the culture in this period appeared the multiple and free tendency. How to distinguish the culture region in warring states is an important subject. Using the documents of pre-qin and archaeological materials ,the author try to study the problem briefly, by the theory of compared culture. Generally speaking, the culture in warring states can be devided into four regions :Three Jin culture region; Qi-Lu-Yan culture region; Qin culture region and Chu culture region.The first part, the reason that warring states culture merotomized into four parts. The author thinks there are geography and nation reason about the regional culture in warring states. From ancient times ,there are different climate and soil in different area. Shang shu, guan zi and shi ji had described the difference. Nature geography affects the culture by two ways. Firstly, it affects the mode of production. Secondly, the difference nature landscape affects directly the local style of culture. The reason of ethnology is different culture origin and national formation.In the second part, on the basis of other's research, the author points out the several external characters of the four culture regions. The characters includes the following: the material culture such as the copper mirror, the coin and the characters; the systematic culture including bureaucrat and peerage system; the thought culture.In the third part, the author discusses the character and development of Three Jin culture, Qi-Lu-Yan culture, Qin culture and Chu culture.After the sizing, relevant research, the author believes: 1, The warringstates culture could be devided to four regions: Three Jin, Qi-Lu-Yan, Qin, Chu culture regions; 2, The multivariant existence of warring states culture in regions is the historical fact, but the development directipn of the warring states culture tends to alliance.
