Qi Song (1007-1072) was the representative figure in Song Dynasty who prosed to reconcile Confucian school and Buddhism. His ideology influenced not only the later developing of Zen thinking, but also the government policy on religion. Besides being an ideologist, he was also known as a litterateur and was highly praised by many people such as O Yangxiu, the great writer of Song Dynasty, and Han Qi, the prime minister in feudal China of Song Dynasty.Modern scholars devote much attention to the study of Qi' ideological system, since he has important status on the history of Buddhism. Bu it is hard to say that we have studied him all-sidedly, because we have overlooked the study of his literally thinking and literary and artistic creation. And, in sharp contrast to the gratifying successes we have achieved on the study of Qi' ideological system, we sort out and select from his works poorly. In view of the existing situation, which is hindering us to make further study on Qi' ideological system, the author do his utmost at the following two aspects:The first, after a brief examination of Qi' life, the author makes an empirical expound on his literary and artistic creation at the preface of the Master' thesis, so as to leave readers a distinct impression; The second, the author take punctuating the books seriously, because punctuating is one of the important businesses for sorting out and selecting the ancient books. Although it is difficult to understand a book on Buddhism, the job was finished successfully.
