In this thesis, the author researches the prose written in Tang dynasty from the angle of academic researching history by collecting, classifying, and analyzing them carefully, so as to reappearing the real face of Song's people's comments on prose written in Tang dynasty. This thesis has four chapters. The first chapter is the conspectus, which mainly introduces the general situation of Song's people's comments on prose written in Tang dynasty. After carefully research on comment-form and comment-method, the author finds that people in Song dynasty comment on prose written in Tang dynasty in many forms, including prose, poetry, note novels, history record and notes on poets and poetry, etc.. "Notes on poets and poetry" is a new comment-form, so does "prose commenting on the prose's preface and postscript". Otherwise, Song's people deprecated prose written in the early and the later period of Tang dynasty but admired those written in the middle period of Tang dynasty, especially those written by Han Yu. To be short, the configuration of Song's people's attitude on prose written in Tang dynasty just likes the configuration of letter "M".The following two chapters are research on Song's people's comments on Han Yu and Liu Zongyuan. Song's people's comments on Han Yu include two aspects: Confucian orthodoxy and prose orthodoxy. In Song dynasty, people's cognitive development on Han Yu is a general changing progress. In the early period of Song dynasty, based on the former comments, writers' thinking much of Confucian orthodoxy and the Six Great Masters' attacking importance to prose writing (especially Ouyang Xiu and Su Shi) had had the comments on Han Yu changed markedly. The Four Scholars following Su Shi had mostly the same attitude as Su Shi. Song's people admired Liu Zongyuan's prose achievements, but they deprecated his political deeds and thought, thus in a sense, it's his political deeds and thought that affected Song's people's comments on Liu Zongyuan's prose and achievements. Comparatively, Han Yu, especially his Confucian orthodoxy thought received more admiration in Song dynasty. This phenomenon had close relation with the political and literary revolutions in Northern Song dynasty. The fourth chapter is about Song's people's comments on the other writers in Tang dynasty. Though these writers weren't commented much, their characteristics were told out. If Song's people's comments on Han and Liu show their attention to prose written in Tangdynasty, it's their comments on the other Tang's writers that show their recognition to the other literature forms in Tang dynasty, such as Fu, Zhi, Zhaogao, etc.In conclusion, Song's people's comments on prose written in Tang dynasty are basically both macroscopical and microscopical with apparently periodical colors.
