On Lu Xun's Concept Of Life's Liberty

Since 1990s, the study of "liberalism literature" has gradually upsurged in the academic circles, so Lu xun, who always paid close attention to the problem of individual life's liberty, is in an awkward position, that is what we must face up to. The opinion of this article is that the embarassment derives from confusion of the usage of the concept, "liberty",so now it is very necessary for us to clarify the different comprehension of "liberty" and to probe into lu xun's "liberty" concept.Lu xun deeply realized the differences between the two histories of Chinese and western civilizations, and Chinese people's whole crisis since the late of Qing Dynasty; besides that, basing on rationally selection and rejection of Chinese traditional culture, he formed his unique concept of life's liberty , and this is his important contribution to the national culture's transformation from tradition to modern, also, it is significant for the culture's reconstruction.Therefore, in the prerequisite that fully emphasize the important significance of Lu xun's criticism of the traditional culture, this article makes an attempt to investigate the developing process and main characters of Lu xun's concept of life's liberty, and tries to protrude the modern significance of his concept for the culture's construction and the deep connections with the traditional culture.The article falls into three chapters, Generally speaking, the first one starts with the concept, "liberty", than briefly expounds the two different systems of "liberty" concept from Chinese culture and western culture, and the primary pattern which is made of Chinese various "liberty" concept since the late of Qing Dynasty. The second one falls into three phases: Mo luo poet with "upholding individual personality" and "rejecting custom"-modern madman with legislating for "human" -the taker with the burden of liberty's depression, it mainly follows the trail of the developing process of Lu xun's concept of life's liberty. The last one expounds the three main characters of Lu xun's concept by comparing it with traditional Chinese concepts.
