Moral criticism was important object of Zhou Zuo-ren during zhe period of "the May 4th " or earlier and later stage. And Cultural Anthropology was important arms when he criticized old morality . At that time, old morality was effective weapon of autocracy rule. So old morality should be criticized . In order to criticize old morality ,it was in need of advanced ideological weapon. Cultural Anthropology was something needed because it provided advanced morality theory. So Zhou Zuo-ren knew the truth of morality and had scientific theory that he could criticize old morality.Zhou Zuo-ren translated and introduced many articles of Cultural Anthropology in order to teach Chinese people to abandon old morality. Besides this, Zhou Zuo-ren drew theory from Cultural Anthropology and criticized old morality directly . Among them , the theory of survival and the theory of moral change is the important theory that Zhou Zuo-ren criticized feudal old morality. According to the theory of survival, Zhou Zuo-ren analyzed that some phenomena of old morality were barbarous in essence and should be abandoned. According to the theory of moral change, Zhou Zuo-ren criticized the theory which showed morality was changeless.It denounced the idea with blind worship and had specific feature with practical rationality. But it had ties with pessimistic idea about history development. Moreover, it exaggerated the idea of Cultural Anthropology and gave no care to the foundation of the politics and economy which gave rise to the morality. In history of literature, it helped bring it into being that Zhou Zuo-ren' prose succeeded.
