The Research On Pattern Design Based On Multimedia Technology

In fact, multi-media pattern design (MmPD) has come into our lives and has permeated every field of our lives, so fast, even before you realize it. Almost all fields, as long as it is connected with visual effect, carry the odor of digital art design. The Hollywood commercial movies extensive use of the digital film techniques, the application interfaces in our personal computers, the magnetic digital games and the numerous and varying Web pages on the World Wide Web, are just some examples of multi-media art design. Despite the wide application of such an artistic technique, however, the research and exploration into such a field is still sparse, although MmPD is an important composition of artistic expression and application. MmPD is an artistic form of manifestation that is unique in its characteristics and charm. Its glamour will all be covered, however, if a theoretical system is not developed fast enough to catch up with its development; notions suitable to its characteristics and development are not established; and such notions are not applied to the production and appreciation of the artistic design.The exploration of MmPD(?)connotations and some common methods and principles for its production is a process that demands designers an unceasing effort to practise, to ponder on, and to struggle with. It(?)a process developed from sense to reason, from non-logic to logic, and from appearances to essence. Everything this thesis does is to serve such purpose.The thesis is focused on multi-media pattern design, which is dealt with in three parts:The first part consists of chapters one to three, and is devoted to the definitions, categorizations and history of MmPD; its relevant disciplines; its surroundings for existence; and its visual principles, with demonstrations and illustrations.The second part - chapters four to six - is based on the first one, but seeks to explore the common elements of MmPD and the key issues of those elements. Moreover, some in-depth analyses are given to explore the ambit of its application. Some common softwares on multi-media picture design are also included.Chapter seven makes detailed analysis and demonstrations on MmPD(?) long-term development, the challenges and problems involved, and its future.This thesis seeks to make a comprehensive and visualized illustration on MmPD on the basis of theoretical research, coupled with excellent examples and voluminous pictorial materials (which has also been made into a teaching software for a course on this subject). The exploration into MmPD is an area still up and coming, both overseas and domestically. This thesis is a humble effort made to the contribution of the theoretical and practical development of digital artistic design in the future.
