Discussions On The Rural Employee And The Social Life

In the rural society, there exist two different social layers in same village but they have huge difference. This dues to an imbalance in the land distribution and causes apartment among farmers. In Shanxi rural society, there have many active rural labors who have common character: not having the right of owning land but working on it. They are only the employees.Generally, employment is increased when land is incorporated. Meanwhile, when land incorporation is broken up, farmers are usually having their own land, most of the farmers possess their own land and therefore they are land-owing farmers, at this time employment relationship is very scarce, land in Shanxi is very poor which makes productivity lower and being worked in small scale. In this condition labor force is released and employees come into being. So it produce employment relationship between employees and employers in rural society. This thesis, mainly focus on employee's working style and life style, taking the employee form, employment relationship and reasons as the study object, and investigates the Shanxi province in the 1920s to 1930s.Besides working on their own land, fanners also employed which becomes a necessary compensation, but they are not the pure employees ,in other words, they are more complicated than pure employed farmers, especially on the constitution of members of day-employed farmers. At the same time, working is limited by season, the tune of employment is gradually shorten, the frequent movement of rural labor force become the adjustable method in supply and demand.Although rural employment relationship has obvious modern character in Shanxi in this period: labor force is gradually commercialized and status of employees is equally developed, feudalism is shorten, working and salary are reasonable. But, there are still existing many long-time 'slave' employees owing to lower salary which made them having a poor life and could not take part in culture life and political life. The major problems are poor education, medical insurance and flowing.In a word, employee's condition in Shanxi show the character of North China it not only contains the traditional employee's situation, but also demonstrate modem character.
