The article analyzes the literary viewpoint of Marquez and the concrete application of magic realism technique. Marquez's literary viewpoint is mainly embodied by his reflection on three aspects: fantasy and reality of literature, epic feature of a novel and the art of dealing with time in a novel, with One Hundred Years of Solitude as example. Marquez thought that what were described in his novel were not fantastic stories but real histories, just being the magic reality of Latin America, with even the description of psychology and fantasy as the liberal reflection of the contemporary Latin American people's traditional concepts, because the dreams were as realistic as the reality. The realistic realism he advocated included not only the objective world subject to the rational philosophy, but also the supernatural world of the non-rational philosophy. Secondly, his comprehension and application of the time technique in his novel is distinctive. Time in the reality should be of natural sequence with one way flow, not able to repeat and reverse, but to demonstrate the topic, in One Hundred Years of Solitude, Marquez made a lot of changes to the arrangement of time, splitting and rearranging the story's times to form a new order-a kind of magic time with features of halt and rotation. Thirdly, as a Latin American novelist, Marquez focused on the Latin American consciousness and Latin American nationality spirits and described the characters and their stories in an epic style to endow the novel an epic characteristic on the basis of genuine Latin American history. According to his literary viewpoint, Marquez applied the composing techniques of magic realism, converting the reality into fantasy and converting the fantasy into reality, implanting myth in the fiction, deriving the plots and describing the characters and demonstrating the topic with extreme exaggeration, symbols and unique narration. How Marquez formed his unique viewpoint also was analyzed in the article.
