A Study Of Chinese Learners' Listening Comprehension And Strategy Training

This is a report on study of listening strategy training for non-English majors. The purpose of the study was to see the efficiency and teachability of strategies training in the non-major field. Based on the theory of learning strategy, this paper deals with the factors affecting students' listening comprehension and listening strategy training. By adopting pretest-posttest control group design, it was found that vocabulary is one of the most important factors influencing listening comprehension and that listening strategy can be taught and learned. Training students' listening strategies should become a part of English teaching plan.
