Wang Meng is an extremely influential contemporary writer in the literary world. Since new period, Wang Meng has attracted the attention of many literature-researching scholars for the unique style, as well for the rich and complicated ideological connotation. However, the traditional research on the speech in his works still remains in studying his skills of rhetoric. I personally point out in this article that the research on the speech in fictions of Wang Meng should be carried out by studying their discourse through its surface structure to understand its inner structure instead of analyzing their speech as it stands. Therefore, combined with the Heteroglossia theory of Bakhail, we study the heteroglossia phenomenon in Wang's fictions by way of three levels of rhetoric function. I think that it is by combining the linguistic context and non-linguistic context that we are able to study and understand promptly the heteroglossia used by Wang Meng in his fictions.
