Classical postcolonial theories featuring distinct ideological character and fierce political criticalness are conspicuous among the “Post-” theories in the latter half of the 20 th century. But theories of different theorist present diverse features on account of various study aspects. This thesis discusses the dimension in postcolonial theories of E.W.Said,Homi K.Bhabha and G.C.Spivak from the perspectives of collective unconscious, dialectic of gaze and subalternity politics respectively. This thesis argues that Said criticizes western hegemonism behind Orientalism and culture,Bhabha reconstructs the inter-subjectivity of the colonizer and the colonized and Spivak deconstructs power and collusion in subalternity politics. This thesis probes into theorist's culture anxiety and theory ambition as well as humanist's political and ethical responsibilities from the distinct dimension of postcolonial theories, which leads to a conclusion that classical postcolonial theories are unanimous heteroglossia.
