Jiang Qiyang(1795-1856) was born in Longshui, Quanzhou, Guangxi Province. He came from an official family and was talented for his family of scholars. He began to serve in government at the age of twenty-seven and acted as a magistrate for more than thirty years in Jiangxi Province and later in Henan Province. He was dead of disease at the site of river harnessing when he was a governor of Hedong in 1856. His works included Wenmeixuan Anthology, Wenmeixuan Collected Works, On Officialdom, the Essays, Clergyman Compilation and On Teaching.Jiang Qiyang was Influenced by the traditional style of poems, he usually composed his poems full of his feelings and hopes and in a flavor to be smooth and placid, gentle and elegant. This dissertation aims to research on the author and his works by collation and annotation of Wenmeixuan Anthology. It mainly covers the analysis of the author's life, his thought, his poems and the artistic characteristics of his works. With scarce previous researches on this subject, this dissertation has an exploration from the poems per se.
